dual core processor problem???
hey guys and girls,
first off, this problem has only occured since the past 2 weeks, and ive been playing GW for about 2.5 years, and everything was flawless. just recently i reformatted, did my things to get the game running, worked well for a week, then odd freezes that froze my whole cpu started happening, and its gotten worse, cleaned my cpu, got better, they arrive in about 10-30 minute intervals, and last for about 10-30 seconds. now i dunno if my drivers are screwed up, because it ONLY happens when GW is running, tech support is running out of answers and i want to know if its my DC processor or anything that can affect the game (drivers? im not a computer whiz) anything you guys can help me do to try to fix it? ive defragged, everything i can think of, thanks guys.

Seems like ur GW needs to be reinstalled.
But, before downloading all the areas again, download CoreTemp and see what the average temperatures of your processor are, and what they are while running Gw. My gw always froze 'cause my CPU was overheated. Normal temperatures for idle are 20-45 and load (gw) are 50-70.
If it's 71, 72°C, don't worry, but 75 or more and I would recommened to get your cpu cooler replaced.
Btw, any idea wich kind of processor, amd, intel?
But, this is a longshot, I think reinstalling GW will do just fine :P

Try setting the affinity to run on a single core. Guild Wars has had trouble on some systems running dual/quad core processors.
